Most of the library’s holdings are fully computerized and are searchable by author, title, subjects, etc. The library is a significant resource for people who have interests in natural history.

The Eagle Hill Library also provides a T-1 Internet connection.

    Celebrating 100 years

The Henry D. Moore Library
is truly a unique and notable small town library. The 12,000+ collection is impressive not just for its size, but also its breadth.

Acquisitions remain from throughout its 90+ years of operation, for much of which time it served as the sole public library for most of the towns surrounding Steuben. This long history has left us with a fine legacy of literature, unmatched by most modern small libraries.

The extensive Maine collection and genealogical records are particularly noteworthy. These literary resources, together with the interlibrary loan system, allow our librarian to meet just about all or our patrons' book requests. Being located just across the street from the town's elementary school enables teachers to easily use our facility.

The library has two state-of-the-art high-speed internet-connected computers for patron use. In addition, the library provides wireless access for laptop users. Linking a classic "old fashioned" library to modern multimedia information opportunities is key to serving the needs of the community in this "cyber-era." Our priority is to see that this is done while retaining the warmth, charm, and historic legacy of the Henry D. Moore Library.

As always, the library is free and open to all. The Parish House seeks to serve the cultural, social, civic, and educational needs of Steuben and the surrounding towns. The building is available for use by community groups and individuals.
